Fran Weber, one of the first female graduates of the Culinary Institute of America at a time when the profession was predominately male, shares some of the work and life experiences that inspired her to write the book, A Neighborhood Café. As a chef for over three decades, a small acreage organic farmer, a business owner, and a food writer, Fran has strived to integrate her work with her passion for a clean healthy food supply and its equitable distribution nationally and across the globe. Inside of a Neighborhood Café, she asks the reader to help create an environment that invokes inclusion, sincerity, and friendliness, the basis for working together for positive change.
Fran hopes that her book will encourage each reader to acknowledge that by living and working from an inspired position, we are limitless in what we can accomplish together. That process begins with the individual and can have a strengthening home at a Neighborhood Café.
